John Trumbull
John Trumbull was a Neo-Classicism painter who was born on June 6, 1843. His hometown is the town of Lebanon, Connecticut. He was born to Faith Robinson, descendant of Pilgrim leader John Robinson, and Jonathan Trumbull, one of the only colonial Royal Governors to support the patriots' cause. Trumbull was also the first Ameircan artist to have a college education. During his lifetime as an artist, he created many engravings, portraits, and paintings. His most famous works include Surrender of General Cornwallis, a portrait of Alexander Hamilton, and The Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence was later used on the back of the rare two-dollar bill.An interesting fact was that he studied under Benjamin West, another famous artist of the Revolution. He died on November 10, 1843.
Benjamin West
Benjamin West was a painter and draftsman who lived from 1738 through 1820. He was very influential during his lifetime, teaching three generations of countrymen. West was a co-founder of the Royal Academy in London., and his style of art was Neo-Classicism. In London, he was known as the "American Raphael," earning him a wide and well-known reputation in Europe. His most famous works are The Last Supper, The Death of General Wolfe, and The Treaty of Penn With The Indians. He died in 1820 in London.

Sally Mann is best-known for her large black-and-white photographs. The subjects of her work used to be of her children, but are later of various landscapes. Her work has been called "disturbing" because of excessive display of skin on art subjects by the New York Times. Sally Mann is considered one of the most influential photographers of her time.
